So what was up with last night's 'Lost' episode? )

I've seen a lot of people doing that "5 bad habits" and "5 guilty pleasures", but none of them have tagged me...so I'm not going to do it.

However, on [livejournal.com profile] paigedayspring's journal, I saw(and was not tagged to do, but I'm going to anyway):

Name 10 celebrities that you find attractive

Shouldn't be too hard...

1. Jennifer Connelly(the movie star)
2. Carla Gugino(from "Threshold")
3. Morena Baccarin(from "Firefly")
4. Bif Naked(Canadian alt-rock musician)
5. Shania Twain(obscure Canadian country-pop artist)
6. Marina Sirtis(Star Trek something-or-other)
7. Jennifer Garner(another movie star)
8. Charisma Carpenter("Buffy"/"Angel")
9. Lesley Ann Warren("Clue")
10. Paget Brewster(Kathy on "Friends")

Gee, that was easy. But I'll stop there.

The wiki has been pretty quiet recently. The guy who posted gobs of Pern stuff has wandered off--probably had all his stuff written out longhand and decided to preserve it on the Web. I stalled for a while on the Knife of Dreams prologue(which I started pretty much immediately after reading the book), but eventually finished it. After that, I decided that rather than just working on two WOT books, one ASOIAF book, one HP book, The Gameplayers of Zan, and optionally one of the Steven Erikson books, I was going to put all the books in those series(well at least the first three series)into a list, pick one at random, and do the next chapter of it.

As a result, I've gone on to do the prologue of The Path of Daggers, the second chapter of The Gameplayers of Zan, and now I'm working on the prologue of A Crown of Swords. I'm already sensing one drawback to my plan--doing all the prologues first. I'm still not sure at what point Jordan's prologues began to inflate(though I suspect I'll find out), but for the later books they tend to be long and quite daunting. Knife of Dreams's was frankly ridiculous. But once I'm past them things might go faster.

Except that Gameplayers has long, fairly dense chapters, and is completely different stylistically--SF instead of fantasy, for one thing. But I'm doing it because I want to put together a fairly complete profile of the Ler race, the engineered offshoot of humanity with a culture that has fascinated me for years. Plus it's one of my all-time favourite books...though we'll see if that holds up to the level of page-by-page scrutiny I'm engaging in. Also, my copy is pretty battered--I wonder if it's ever been reprinted? There's probably a pricy trade-paperback edition, and while I avoid TPs as much as I can, because they annoy me, I might spring for it for one of my favourite books...

Anyway, I'm still enjoying it, but it's pretty much sapping any actual writing I might be engaging in. At some point I had a goal to try to write 50,000 words before this year's NaNoWriMo, but so far I've only written about 150 words, so I'm a little behind. I was going to go on the wiki again tonight(I'm stalling out in one of those annoying Elaida scenes), but maybe I should try to write my paltry 179 words. Except that I'm so stalled on "The Soul-Stealers", and it doesn't feel worth working on anything else... Grump.

I could just do an LJ book update. Tomorrow is, of course, Rabbit Hole Day(and to celebrate, we watched the Disney "Alice In Wonderland" movie tonight with the boys), so it won't be then, unless I do another RHD version like I did last year. Wait and see.
